Perhaps they feel happy at that time, but they will never get true happiness because they have destroyed others’ happiness.
From I have discussed above ,we may safely draw the conclusion that happiness means kindness, love and unselfishness. Above all, only bringing happiness to otherms can make yourself happy.

Never Give Up
“If I could reach higher, just for one moment to touch the sky…”---this is from my favorite song Reach.
When we are appreciating the passionate melody of Gloria Estefan, we could hardly imagine that she could return to the stage after her paralysis. In the year 1990, this Cuban singer was knocked down in a traffic accident, and the doctor declared that she might never walk again. But Gloria did not give up and kept up constant exercising. Just one year after the disaster, she stood up again and presented this encouraging song at the Atlanta Olympics.
Whenever I think of Gloria, I can’t help recalling my memory seven years ago, when I first entered university. Naturally shy, ordinary looking, average scores in study, just like an ugly duckling, I seemed to be the least outstanding one in my class. And the successive failures in the beginning led me into despair. “Am I destined to take the back seat to others?” Unwilling to submit to the fate, I paid more efforts on my study as well as many other activities, film dubbing, recital, drama… cause I just want to catch every little opportunity to prove myself. Constant effort yields sure success. Thanks to the competition, I received some awards and most of all, I gained the courage and confidence to face any difficulties in my life journey.
Life is just like farming, and what you can reap depends a lot on your sowing and dedication. Once you have a dream, don’t be hesitant. Your next difficult step may be the one to the top. Keep going forward, even in the toughest time, and never give up.

the hero’s mother in the movie forrest gump says, “life is a box of chocolates”. i would say that life, with friendship, true friendship particularly, is sweet as honey. it is moonlight cast on the tranquility of a lake on a mid-fall night, enchanting to the soul. it is morning dew on rose petals, pleasant and pleasing to the sense of sight. it is cosy fire on a bitterly cold winter night, warming the heart.
but as helen foster snow remarks, “friendship is no common weed that grows along the way. it’s highly cultivated and watered day by day.” like an infant, it needs constant care; like a young tree, it can not be left to the tender mercies of severe weather. true friendship consists more in “a friend in need” to give to than “a friend in need” to take from. a true friend is a person who can be turned to, who is ready to lend a listening ear, who is willing to share feelings.
friendship should be mutual, otherwise it will be subject to withering like plant in drought. like genuine love, true friendship has to be a two way experience. be it the former or the latter, if one expects to be solely on the receiving end, then s/he will be too optimistic about it: it is hoping against hope that it will last. love or friendship of this kind is dangerous, as it is contaminated by the dark matter in human nature – selfishness.
not infrequently does friendship need to be cared and tended, fostered and nourished, so that it will “stand at every crossroad, so good and strong and true”.

It is a great honor for me to share in your accomplishment and pride today. But I must admit that I approached this address with some trepidation. I grew up with the idea that college was more an aspiration than an expectation. I saw my parents struggle most of their lives and the daily battle to keep afloat sometimes even drained what hopes and dreams they had for me. They didn't go to college and neither did my only, older sibling.

Growing up, my biggest goal was just to get out of East New York. I took the college entrance exam and committed myself to getting into college. I did. The day I left for college was one of the first trips I made out of New York City.

I'm proud that LaGuardia and Goldman Sachs have teamed up to support small businesses. Through this partnership, I've seen how many LaGuardia students are juggling school, job and family. And, I've seen how these students and all of you push yourselves and persevere.

After college, I went to law school for three years, and then into my dream job at a big NY law firm. But even though it had been my dream, I didn't like it once I got there.

For the first time, I was feeling financially secure, but I knew I wasn't passionate enough about what I was doing. For some it was fun; for me it was always going to be a chore.

First, confidence really matters.

Recognize you have earned the right to be confident. Most of you have made great sacrifices and overcome great obstacles to get where you are today. You built up muscles that others who've had an easier time don't have. Those muscles will serve you for the rest of your life.

My struggle to get to and through college turned out to be an advantage for me. The disadvantages you have had become part of your personal history and track record, all advantages in your later life. So confidence is justified.

Second, find a job that you like.

You'll be better at it and you'll last longer in it. Having said that, in a tough economy, or because of family pressures, you may not aways be able take a risk with a job choice. And, no doubt, we've all settled at various times.

But, don't let necessity in a given moment become the excuse for a lifetime of inertia. Keep trying to get yourself to the right place. If I'd stayed a lawyer, I could have made it work for a while, but I would have fizzled out and eventually because I didn't love it.

Third, be a well rounded, complete person.

many of you will go for further education or career training. Of course, it's important to learn the things that you need to make a living. But, don't forget to read, and to learn history, literature and about current events.

You'll be more interesting to others, more interesting to yourself and you'll be more successful in your job. Most of the books I've read didn't apply directly to my job or industry, but I've applied their lessons in unexpected ways.
你会变得更吸引人，对你自己也更加有趣，会在你的工作上更加成功。我读过的绝大部分书对我的工作甚至这个行业都没有直接的用处，但是书中的经验教训总会以意想不到的方式发挥作用。
Fourth, be involved in the community.
第四点，参与社区活动。
Find ways to contribute to make yourself proud and set an example to your kids. making a living is not life. It is a means to an end, not the end. You have to feel proud of yourself. There are always going to be people who struggle and for whom community work is not a realistic option, but try.

I've done plenty to advance myself over the years. But, the older I get, the more satisfaction I get from serving and advancing others. In fact that's how I first got involved with President Mellow and LaGuardia -- through the 10,000 Small Businesses program we initiated at your school.

What were the chances that a kid from the poverty would run one of the great financial institutions in the world? You just never know. That unpredictability is the great thing about life. You change. The world changes.

In my opinion, the schoolwork now being assigned to high school students is
too heavy. While it is true that students need to study, they need other things
as well if they are to grow into healthy and well-rounded adults. High should be
allowed more time for play. Playing is not wasting time, as some think. It gives
them physical exercise, and also exercise their imagination. Which tends to be
stifled by too much study. Finally, the pressure put on high school students by
excessive schoolwork can cause serious stress, which is unhealthy physically and
mentally. I do not advocate the elimination of schoolwork. I do think, however,
that a reduction of the current heavy load would be beneficial to students and
to the society as a whole.
